For Freedom Christ has set us Free

As Eric returns from him interview in Richmond and I enjoy a quiet moment while both boys sleep Galations 5.1 replays in my mind- 'For Freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery'
I want to live in freedom. I do not want to be overcome by anything. However, I know that I can start to feel trapped by the expectations that I create for myself. As I decide what the perfect mom/wife/sister/daughter/friend etc looks like I come up with what I think to be a really great person... in fact that person probably is really great but this is not the person that God created me to be, it is the person that I decided I should be.
Why do I fall so quickly for this temptation? I think I'm afraid of the freedom in the alternative. However, the person that I have the freedom to be is what is best. My creation is good but it is hard and burdensome. The other is unknown but free.
Hoping that I can choose that which is best!

Last day in April

So, Levi and Isaac are becoming the best of friends. Today, as Isaac was laying on his back Levi approaches to talk to him and be sweet. Levi then decides he wants to pick Isaac up to which his mother quickly informs him that he is not to. Levi sits and plays with Isaac with his parents right then. Then in one swoop Levi decides to turn Isaac from his back to his tummy. Isaac loved it, a huge smile across his face and both parents can't help but laugh at the unexpected event.
Isaac continues to love, to smile and laugh at everyone who gives him attention and continues to scream most moments while in the car without attention.
Levi has learned the word 'mine' and says it about most things he see or read about. When he doesn't want to say mine he just points to what he wants and then taps his chest.

Let the blogging begin!

We live in Brownsville, TX on the boarder of Mexico in a Residence Inn and have done so since October 2010. I want to remember and share with others the great and not as great events of our life. I hope to learn and laugh from it and perhaps others will too.

Today's high- Levi, now 18.5mo, said "Wuv you" today as we hugged and kissed him goodnight. It was so sweet.
